Henry Ford said it best when he stated, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right”. Our attitude and emphasis on what is or isn’t possible plays a huge role in determining if we succeed or fail.
To create the relationships, careers, mental wellness, or anything else you desire, we must first start by becoming aware of our old shitty limiting beliefs and realize we have a choice to continue to believe them or not. A thought is just a thought, and you have the power to change them.
We begin by identifying our useless and outdated points of view. Then we can begin the process of shifting those fruitless thoughts and constructing new opinions, views, and belief systems. To make room for new ideas, you must first tear out all the old worthless ones you’ve formed throughout your lifetime.
We all grow up and experience life differently. We are programed from birth with distinctive family, socioeconomical, cultural, religious, and other external influences that create our individual world views. Additionally, each person has a unique genetic program. All these factors make up who we are, our personality, whether we see the world through rose colored glasses or a dense fog. What may seem like a tragedy to one person may be a minor inconvenience for someone else.
What is important to understand, is that as kids we had no control of what was imputed and developing our belief systems. We quite literally didn’t know what we didn’t know.
But now, as grown ass adults, you get to decide if you want to continue to believe all the things originally coded into your brain or change those thought into something else. Thoughts that help us to be the person we want to be. It is a choice, your choice to make.
